If you're seeking a peaceful getaway in a lovely English village, we had a rather pleasant stay at the Old Butchers Inn. It was conveniently located near Henley on Thames and just a stone's throw away from the Stag and Huntsman, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of wine tasting at Chiltern Valley Winery. The accommodation itself was clean and well-finished, offering ample space-ideal for a group of friends or multiple couples. The garden area was a nice touch, complete with picnic tables-an inviting place to enjoy breakfast or simply revel in the country air. Speaking of breakfast, we appreciated the generous continental spread, which we could savor at our own pace thanks to the thoughtful decision to leave it outside. Not all was smooth sailing. Upon arrival, we encountered issues with accessibility, as the property was closed with no clear communication from the host. This could certainly be frustrating after a long journey. In terms of value, while the price was on the higher side, the tranquility and amenities offered-like free parking and shared kitchen access-made for a decent experience overall. Would I stay again?
